The Final :
Germany v Spain - Sun 29 June
Live on BBC 1 @ 19.45 & on Big Screen at BAFC
After 22 days and 33 matches Euro 2008 will draw to a close tonight at the Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna, where the eyes of the world will be on Ballack and Villa (if fit), or Torres and Schweinsteiger and the rest.
The real show is closer to home though, where the eyes of Boroughbridge will be watching the LUCKY SEVEN, to see just who does come through as Champion after an epic struggle. Nick Cooke is sitting nicely at the top of the pile with a 4 point cushion, which means that to displace him, his rivals are going to have to get the correct score as well as the correct outcome.
The situation is as follows:
Nick Cooke - will win if Germany win or any of his 4 closest rivals fail to get the outcome and score correct
Dale Binns, Slonka - will win if Spain win by their predicted score
Joyce Ekin - will share the Title if the game ends as a 2-2 draw
PaulThompson - will share the title if Spain win 2-1
Nigel Coultas, Tom Hendry - neither can now win.
Remember there's 3 points for the correct outcome, and 7 for the correct outcome matched with the correct score. Also, the score is taken after 90 minutes are up. Extra Time and penalties do not count.
Whatever the outcome it has been great fun. Check back later for the final leaderboard. Good luck to them all, and let's hope the final in Vienna can be a showpiece to prove just how good football can be!
