24 Feb - Games Night a Great Success
On Saturday evening in the Aldborough Road clubhouse, we held the inaugural Games Night and it is fair to say that a good time was had by all. Poker, darts and pool were on offer as entry fees were part paid back as prizes. The poker was won by Simon Metcalfe; he received £35.00 for his victory and kindly donated £15.00 of this back to the club. In the darts competition the final was won by Popeye who beat Neil Horner in a three leg match from 501. He took home £10 with his victory. The pool competition was won by Coggers who beat Smudge in the final and also received £10 for his victory.
Also on offer, for free, were games on a Nintendo Wii with a Wii Balance board. Five games were on offer using the board. In the Ski Slalom event, Justin Sinclair, with a time on 51.36 seconds, narrowly beat Martin Hutchinson, who posted a time of 51.91 seconds. Christine Paffett posted the highest score in the Ski Jump, with 345 metres to Justin's 332 metres. Heather Alderson posted the stand-out score on the Headers, with 555 points to Steffan Polmann's 399 points. The rest of the scores on this were under 100 points. Olie Uff won the Tightrope with 58.81 seconds and Amy won the hoops with a score of 317 hoops to Justin's 299 hoops.
Many thanks to the event organiser, John Guy who did a magnificent job. He has added a huge thank you to everyone who supported the night and those who assisted the night to succeed.
