30 May - More From Thailand
We now have a little more information from Udon Thani about the England Veteran's World Cup final win. England's hero was Ian Simpson who scored the only goal of the match when his header hit the back of the net in the 8th minute. He was later named as player of the tournament. The match was abandoned in the second half due to torrential rain and an already heavily sodden pitch. The squad will be flying back into Manchester Internation Airport on Monday morning. The image above shows the team with the World Cup: click to enlarge. Many thanks to manager Paul Bell for the information and the pictures he has sent back to us and congratulations to him and all of his team on a fantastic result for English football. Let's see if the younger lads can do the same as the Veterans in South Africa next year!
