‘Bridge started their season off in promising fashion with this comprehensive victory over local rivals Ripon City. Ollie Uffindall was unlucky not to open the scoring when his shot hit the inside of the post and rolled along the line with Andy Kirkbright well beaten and minutes later further misfortune struck Bridge when new signing Ryan Devine required hospitalization after he was struck in the eye with the ball. They quickly put these setbacks behind them on 20 minutes as Uffindall and Phil Wix combined with the latter providing the cross for Danny Webster to open the scoring. Minutes later Mark Burniston headed another Wix cross wide and seven minutes before the break the home team went further behind with a superb Uffindall finish. Apart from one shot that Hogg saved comfortably the Bridge defence was rarely troubled and on 75 minutes Uffindall turned provider as he supplied the cross for Ben Clayton to seal the points.
