The first half ended goalless but second half goal from Matt Thompson, Kieran Glennon and usual 'keeper Matt Butler accelerated Sherwood into a three nil lead before Kyle Wall hit home a late consolation goal for 'Bridge. 13 May - Lucky Seven: Slonka Wins Fourth Title As the Barclays Premier League drew to a dramatic conclusion earlier today, so did this season's Lucky Seven score predictor competition on our UreView messageboard. League leader, and defending champion, Slonka came into the final week's competition with a healthy but not unassailable lead over long term challenger riverside, but demonstrated just why he has won this crown four years out of five by winning the week's competition and thus ending any hopes riverside may have had of snatching the title away. Further down the table, bluethru cemented a third place league finish with second on the week, and a1blue gained just enough points on the final week to push blue is the colour down into fifth position. Statto also scored enough points to advance his finishing position to sixth. The final table can be found to the right. Our congratulations to Slonka on successfully defending his crown and our thanks to all those who have taken part in Lucky Seven this season.
Lucky Seven will recommence at the beginning of next season, with the defending champion in the hotseat for the picks in the first week of the new Barclays Premier League season. If you just can't wait until then, however, then why not try our Lucky Seven Special for the Euro 2012 tournament. More details can be found by clicking here... |

| 12 May - Race For Survival: Mission Complete 'Bridge Reserves came into today's match against newly crowned County Challenge Trophy winners Wetherby Athletic Reserves knowing that a win would assure then of Alliance Division One football next season. With this knowledge it would have been reasonable to expect a nervy and tentative performance from the home side, but in the end they produced everything but with both teams providing an enthralling encounter which swung both ways throughout the afternoon. Phil Wix set 'Bridge on their way and settled any early nerves in the 26th minute when he bundled home a well struck Dan Clayton corner. Wetherby were level just eight minutes later but Tendai Machama quickly restored the lead, which 'Bridge would hold until half time. The visitors started strongly in the second half and restored parity on 57 minutes. It would have been easy for 'Bridge to lose their resolve at this point, but they kept working together and the introduction of Jamie Smith on the hour mark proved to be inspirational when he hit home a Machama cross with his very first touch. Once again Tony Coles's side lost their lead four minutes later but they retook it for good with eleven minutes left on the clock as Paul Scaife slotted home. As the final whistle rang around Aldborough Road, Coles and his team celebrated, safe in the knowledge that they had successfully avoided relegation.
